Oh my goodness. Whenever I heard about people underpricing their commissions in the Forums, I never imagined it was actually as bad as people said. Sure. I've seen people charge less than a dollar, but less than a quarter? I'm really concerned as to how people think they're turning a profit when their materials and time spent cost at least 5000 times more than that.
What's even worse is seeing people offer that much to artists and seeing young unsuspecting victims falling into this pit of what is essentially exploitation.
I feel so bad for these artists because of the lack of value they place on their artwork. Maybe they're not all priceless masterpieces, but surely they're worth more than pennies.
Anyways, I was thinking about all of this because I've been debating whether or not to open up commissions. But I'm still not sure about how successful I'd be. I'm still getting the hang of using a tablet, so I suppose I'll have to wait a bit longer before making a final decision. Especially since school starts up in a couple of weeks, so I'll have to figure out if I even have time to dedicate to it.
Whelp, that ends this journal
